The Provincial Government announced today that Dr. Larry Goldenberg has been awarded the prestigious Order of British Columbia. Dr. Goldenberg is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading advocate for prostate cancer research and for the rapid application of innovative treatments for the disease. He is a selfless and dedicated surgeon and an outstanding administrator who has provided the vision and leadership to create the Prostate Centre at Vancouver General Hospital. Due in large measure to his efforts, the Prostate Centre at VGH is the largest and most comprehensive research, treatment and educational facility with a focus exclusively on prostate cancer in Canada. The Order of BC is the province's highest honour for outstanding achievement.
