VCH Research Institute investigator, Dr. Jon Stoessl, has been named as a Member to the Order of Canada in the field of Health Care. The Member, Order of Canada recognizes a lifetime of distinguished service in or to a particular community, group or field of activity. Dr. Stoessl is Director of the Pacific Parkinson Research Centre at UBC Hospital (affiliated with the Brain Research Centre at UBC Hospital) and is Professor, Medicine (Neurology) at the University of British Columbia, where he also holds the Canada Research Chair, CNS Disorders. The appointments were publicly announced on February 20, 2007. Recipients will be invited to accept their insignia at a ceremony in Ottawa at a later date.
