COVID-19 Research Fund


The COVID-19 Research Fund aims to support innovative research projects with the potential to have a swift impact on the evolving clinical challenges related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Where appropriate, proposal should demonstrate coordination with clinical services and alignment with clinical needs.

Funding Partners

Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute is partnering with VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation to administer the COVID-19 Research Fund.


Award is open to VCH clinicians and/or researchers involved with patient care and/or research located at VGH, UBC Hospital, Richmond Hospital, Lions Gate Hospital, or G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre.

Please contact VCHRI Manager of Internal Awards if you are unsure if you meet the eligibility requirements. VCHRI reserves the right to declare applications ineligible.

Note: Dept Head, Dean and ORS signatures on the RPIF and Research Module can be obtained after submission.

For VCH applicants without a UBC appointment*: VCHRI Grant Cover Sheet

For applicants with a UBC appointment*: UBC Research Project Information Form (RPIF)

*If you have an appointment at both UBC and VCH, you only need to complete the RPIF, not the VCHRI Grant Cover Sheet.
