Speakers: Alison Orth, Marc Saunders, and Jason Sim
Alison Orth is a Clinical Research Professional with more than 25 years of experience leading health research studies and managing clinical research teams at community and academic sites in both the private and public sectors. As part of her role as the Unit Director of Clinical Trials BC, Alison is leading a national initiative to engage research participants about their experience with clinical research in order to enhance patient and public participation in trials and their overall experience as a participant.
Marc Saunders is the clinical research and community outreach coordinator with the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, and he brings to the role many years of experience in both research and clinical settings. He holds a BSc in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Victoria and a Master of Biomedical Technology at the University of Calgary.
Jason Sim is the Coordinator, Clinical Trials Administration at VCHRI. He has helped with the financial administration of industry sponsored clinical trials at VCHRI since 2014, and has started transitioning to provide support for budget development as well as contract amendments and negotiation with industry sponsors. He received his BA from Simon Fraser University followed by graduate work at the University of California, Irvine.
