This privacy and research education workshop will focus on best practices for collecting, managing and sharing personal information for research purposes. Particular focus will be on best practices when using social media tools, common apps, and email to communicate with other researchers and research participants.

About the speaker: Janine Johnston has worked in privacy at VCH since 2011. She is currently a Privacy Advisor in research at Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and also holds a MAS (Masters of Archival Studies) from the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (SLAIS) at UBC.
