The Centre for Hip Health and Mobility (CHHM) delivers research solutions to prevent, detect and treat bone and joint problems and translates new knowledge to enhance mobility across the lifespan. Researchers examine the health and function of bones, joints and muscles, as well as injury prevention, treatment options for hip fractures and osteoarthritis, and new surgical solutions to achieve better health outcomes for people as they age.
The Centre mandate is to focus on health and mobility for all Canadians across the lifespan. The multidisciplinary research team is rethinking fracture care, accessing different physical activities that might impact hip pain, investigating surgical joint replacement and implant solutions, and looking at innovative ways to prevent injury in the first place.
