Purpose of Study

The purpose of this study is to explore brain energetics using Bold fMRI and FDG PET scanning in healthy controls.  We will complete fMRI and FDG PET scanss on 30 healthy volunteers, obtaining a set of healthy control data using the recently acquired Signa Hybrid Positron Emission Tomography/3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner located in the multi-modal imaging suite at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health.  These data will be used as reference to investigate several brain alterations induced by disease.  This approach allows for the best analysis of data and accounts for scanner environment specific variables that could potentially impact analysis.

Eligibility

Healthy participants between 19-85 (male) and 30-85 (female) may participate.  Normal healthy control brain behaviour data is necessary to compare to that of people affected by a number of conditions and diseases affecting brain behaviour.
