Excellence in Patient-Oriented Research

Purpose

The purpose of this competition is to promote excellence and build capacity for patient-oriented research for clinician scientist investigators located at VGH, UBC Hospital, Richmond Hospital and G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre.

Eligibility

You are eligible to be the principal investigator on an application if you hold an active VCHRI Internal award. Your application will be eligible for this award if you are engaging with patients at the ‘involve’ or ‘collaborate’ level in research activities conducted within VCH. Please contact the VCHRI Education & Funding team if you are unsure if you meet the eligibility requirements.

Deadlines

POR consultation and support: The BC SUPPORT Unit will provide patient-oriented research or patient engagement planning consultations with registered applicants. These consultations can be in person or over the phone, and must be booked through completion of an online inquiry form on the BC SUPPORT Unit Website. All award winners will also receive additional consultation and training to support successful patient engagement in the project.  

Award submission deadline:  Monday, May 3, 2021 by 4:00pm (PST).

Completed letter of intent and application must be received via the online submission link by the times specified or they will not be accepted.
