UBC Faculty of Medicine REDCap Beginner’s Workshop

Sep 24 2024, 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Virtual

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a web-based software that is used to create and manage research databases and participant surveys. It was developed as a tool to help researchers collect and manage data effectively and responsibly, integrated with biobanking and data visualization software. In this overview of REDCap, attendees will be encouraged to follow along as speakers from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (FoM) Digital Solutions Research Technology team demo how to add new forms, instruments and fields to a project.

Learning objectives

In this workshop you will learn:

  • fundamentals of creating data collection forms using REDCap
  • how to acquire the skills to design a basic project
  • how to collect data, generate reports and export data
  • how to manage a project by making modifications and ensuring data integrity
