This interactive workshop will examine how generative artificial intelligence (AI), such as ChatGPT, is changing STEM writing, with a focus on abstracts. Participants will learn the communicative functions and rhetorical moves of effective abstracts and compare AI-generated with human-written examples. Drawing on current scholarship, case studies and hands-on exercises, the session provides practical strategies for generative AI use, while preserving clarity and academic integrity.
