Biography

Dr. Guy Faulkner is a professor in the School of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia and Chair in Applied Public Health. His research focuses on the development and evaluation of physical activity interventions as well as physical activity and mental health.  

Dr. Faulkner is the founding editor of the Elsevier journal — Mental Health and Physical Activity. He has published extensively in psychology, public health and behavioural medicine and is a Clarivate Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher. He has contributed to the development of the groundbreaking Canadian 24-hour movement guidelines for children and youth, the early years and now adults and older adults (2015–2020) and remains a long serving member of the ParticipACTION Research Advisory Group.
