Hear from the BC SUPPORT Unit about how to get started in patient-oriented research, and discover how patient engagement offers beneficial insight into health research.
Morning Session - What is POR?
- Define patient-oriented research and how it is different from traditional health research
- Describe the various levels of patient engagement
- Identify patient-reported outcome measures
Afternoon Session - How to engage patients in research?
- Outline the practical considerations for engaging patients as partners in health research
- Identify the kinds of roles patient partners are interested in

About the speaker
Dr. Larry Mróz is a Research Navigator and Patient Engagement Coordinator with the BC SUPPORT Unit. In his role, he can help find the right supports available to you and your research team, and assist with patient engagement training.
