Vancouver General Hospital Research Pavilion, 828 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C.
Climate change has had substantial impacts on health and its determinants in local communities, including through unprecedented extreme heat events, wildfire smoke exposure and the effects of drought and flooding. Drawing on a variety of data sources, Dr. Michael Schwandt will describe health impacts and related exposures that have been observed within our region, as well as future projections. This session will also present emerging initiatives led by public health programs and partners to mitigate and adapt to climate change, aiming toward increased sustainability, climate resilience and health equity.
