Join a new initiative at VCHRI: the Unlearning Club.
The Unlearning Club is a structured space that fosters dialogue and self-directed learning focused on dismantling Indigenous-specific racism and White supremacy. It is intended for individuals who have already begun their learning journey and are looking to deepen their understanding through ongoing reflection, discussion and shared learning in a supportive environment. You can learn more about the origins and approach of the Unlearning Club here.
As a first step, we are planning a “Lunch and Unlearning” gathering for all VCHRI researchers and staff. This informal session will introduce the goals and structure of the Unlearning Club, provide an opportunity to ask questions and create space for conversation and shared learning.
Following the June gathering, interested participants will be invited to express interest in joining the first cohort. We anticipate beginning with a small group to support meaningful engagement and discussion. Participants are expected to have completed foundational learning, such as San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training or VCHRI’s introductory module. Information about prerequisite training and cohort participation will be shared following the June session.
Register by June 15.
