Vancouver Coastal Health Anti-Racism Online Sessions

Nov 7 – Nov 10, 2022
Virtual
Intended Audience
Research staff working at Vancouver Coastal Health sites

Racism in health care has a significant impact on both patients and health care workers. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) recognizes that racism is pervasive and systemic and as such, a dedicated, sustainable anti-racism program is needed.

VCH has been hosting small group sessions where staff are able to share their experiences with racism at their workplace and discuss the impact that racism has on the health care we provide. By attending an engagement session, staff will have an opportunity to share their thoughts on how racism has impacted and continues to impact health care delivery. There will also be an opportunity to provide suggestions on how staff can support each other and create safer spaces for everyone.

Online engagement sessions for research staff will take place the following days:

  • November 7, 2022 from 10:00-11:30am
  • November 9, 2022 from 3:30-5:00pm
  • November 10, 2022 from 9:30-11:00am
  • November 10, 2022 from 1:30-3:00pm
