Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute has over 2,400 personnel engaged in research in a large variety of disease areas, clinical settings and research laboratories. Clinical research, laboratory and basic science extend across many health disciplines with VCH, and there is no shortage of opportunities for new and established researchers, trainees and staff.

Director, Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation
VCHRI invites applications for Director of the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Evaluation (C2E2), a senior leadership role responsible for developing and implementing the Centre’s research strategy, encouraging interdisciplinary research, and supporting investigators across VCHRI. The Director will lead C2E2’s strategic direction, governance and research initiatives that align with VCH and VCHRI’s priorities, with a strong emphasis on learning health systems. By collaborating with researchers and the health care sector, the Director will oversee research that produces meaningful, community-centered outcomes and informs policy and practice locally, provincially, and nationally. This leadership position is expected to be filled by a current UBC faculty member. Candidates should hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent, have substantial independent research experience, a record of collaborative research, leadership and administrative experience, and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
The Legacy for Airway Health Chair in Health Communication
Simon Fraser University and the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Faculty of Health Sciences at SFU, starting September 1, 2025. This position, intended for emerging scholars at the assistant professor level, focuses on research, education and leadership in health risk communication related to airway diseases such as asthma and COPD. The Chair will lead interdisciplinary research on resilience and adaptation to lung health threats, including vaping, environmental exposures, climate change and misinformation, while equipping the next generation of researchers and informing policy through knowledge translation.
