I began my career at VGH in 1996 in critical care medicine, and completed my Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology at Harvard University in 2000. I became Director of Research for VGH ICU in 2000, Medical Director and UBC Division Head, and the Regional Medical Director for Critical Care in 2004. Currently I am the Regional Director for Critical Care and Chair of Provincial Critical Care, as well as Senior Medical Director for VGH. I have an active interest in clinical research in the area of critical illness. My specific areas of interest include glycemic control in the critically ill, septic shock, quality improvement and outcomes research.
