From Process to Practice: Edit-A-Thon to Better Your Blog

Feb 24, 2021 – 9:00am

Virutally

Intended Audience
Research Staff, Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

The UBC Centre for Blood Research and Canadian Blood Services invite you to a workshop to hone your editing skills.

This 1.5 hour workshop is an extension of the workshop “From Blah to Blog”. In the first workshop, we covered eight tips to improve your lay science writing. In this interactive follow-up session, we will work together to integrate these tips into a piece of your own science writing. Note: Given the interactive nature of this workshop, we ask that you bring a prepared piece of writing to be workshopped. Please bring something approximately 500 words or less. This writing could be a blog you would like to write or a lay summary for your research or a paper.

Facilitated by SciCATs, a collective of Vancouver-based science communicators providing skills-based science communication training, resources, and in-person workshops. SciCATs believe that anyone, anywhere should be able to learn the why and the how of science communication!

Please see the attached flyer for more details about the workshops. All are welcome to attend.
