Purpose of Study
The purpose of this provincial assessment is to measure the quality metrics of the delivery of breast cancer care across B.C.
After consent, participants will complete a questionnaire via REDCap. A 45–60-minute interview will then be scheduled by the research team, conducted via phone or UBC Zoom, and audio recorded. Patients will discuss their health priorities, barriers and breast cancer treatment experiences. Providers will share insights on improving care and their roles. An optional follow-up interview over Zoom/phone will be offered to allow participants to review transcripts and clarify any responses during a second meeting if needed.
Eligibility
This study is open to both patients and health care providers in B.C.
Patients must have received breast cancer care in B.C., currently reside in B.C., be 19 years of age or older and have the capacity to give informed consent. Patients who are non-English speakers will be provided translators.
Health care providers must provide breast cancer care in B.C. or have over one year of experience in their current practice or hospital/clinic manager role, and must be fluent in English.
