Purpose of Study
The purpose of this study is to: investigate the feasibility of using virtual reality (e.g. the Saebo-VR) after acquired brain injury to target activities; understand clinician opinions towards virtual reality technology who are working in adult brain injury rehabilitation; and understand the opinions of people with acquired brain injury who have used virtual reality technology.
Participants will complete a baseline outcome measure assessment and a total of 12 sessions (four 30-minute sessions over three weeks) using the Saebo-VR to practice meal preparation. There will be two follow-up outcome measure assessments after the intervention and at three-months follow-up. Participants will also complete a one-hour semi-structured interview about understanding the experiences of using the virtual reality equipment.
Eligibility
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you are an adult between 19 to 65 years of age who has had a stroke or moderate to severe traumatic brain injury in the last six months, with self-reported difficulty completing daily activities as a result of the injury. Clinicians who are currently working in adult brain injury rehabilitation and administered at least one virtual reality session using Saebo-VR are also eligible to participate. All participants must be able to communicate effectively in English.
