Biography
Dr. Myeong Jin Ju is an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from UBC in 2015.
Dr. Ju’s research is focused on the development of optical imaging systems and signal processing algorithms, with a specific technology concentration on medical imaging. His research also spans knowledge translation and applications to preclinical and clinical vision research. Dr. Ju works on developing cellular resolution functional retinal imaging system and processing algorithms for quantitatively imaging biological dynamics in human retina. His research aims to develop new label-free optical imaging to contrast macro to sub-micrometer modulations in retinal tissues to single cell in vivo and in vitro under a variety of pathophysiological challenges.
