Biography
Dr. Paxton Bach is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a general internist and addiction medicine physician at St. Paul’s Hospital. He also serves as the co-medical director for the British Columbia Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU).
In addition to his other roles, Dr. Bach is a clinician-scientist at the BCCSU with research interests including harm reduction, overdose prevention, and clinical trials in addiction medicine. He is a principal investigator for numerous clinical trials focusing on the development of novel treatment approaches for opioid and stimulant use disorders, and is the clinical research co-lead for the Road to Recovery Program.
