Purpose of Study

The purpose of this study is to test visual abilities and eye movements in patients with Parkinson's disease and healthy control participants and to link dysfunctions to cognitive abilities and disease severity.

Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • are 50-85 years of age with a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease (diagnosed within this time period)
  • are currently taking medication for Parkinson's disease (e.g. Levadopa (L-DOPA), or other)
  • have normal or corrected-to-normal visual acuity (at least 20/40 in both eyes)
  • do not have other neurological or neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer’s, dementia) or history of brain injury (e.g. stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain surgery)
  • do not have history of eye disease (e.g. lazy eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration)
  • are fluent in English
