Biography

Dr. Anthony Papp is the medical director of the BC Professional Firefighters' Burn Unit and a clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of British Columbia. With a particular focus on burn and wound care and scar management, he is the plastic surgeon responsible for two additional provincial programs: the Spinal Cord Impairment Wound Clinic focusing on para/quad patients with pressure ulcers, and the Complex Wound Clinic. He also has a general plastic surgery office with scheduled operating time for elective plastic surgery outside burn and wound care.

Dr. Papp has actively participated in undergraduate and postgraduate training programs in Finland and in Canada within divisions of plastic surgery. He is a member of the American Burn Association’s Clinical Practice Guideline AD-HOC committee and the International Society of Burn injuries’ Executive Committee. He is also the president elect of the Canadian Burn Association. He has published 60 peer-reviewed publications, over 110 conference abstracts and 23 book chapters, in addition to being the reviewer and editorial board member for 25 various journals.
