Biography
Dr. Lesa Dawson is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecologic at the University of British Columbia and the director of the Gynecologic Cancer Prevention and Survivorship Clinic at Vancouver General Hospital. Dr. Dawson is a gynecologic oncologist with over 20 years of experience caring for people diagnosed with or at risk of gynecologic cancer. Dr. Dawson trained in medicine as well as obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial University of Newfoundland followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Dawson founded and leads the Gynecologic Cancer Prevention and Survivorship Clinic, which serves patients across British Columbia and Yukon. She is dedicated to improving care for individuals with gynecologic cancer and those with hereditary predisposition such as BRCA1 BRCA2, RAD51C RAD51D PALB2, and Lynch Syndrome. Her contributions to cancer awareness and advocacy have included volunteer positions with Ovarian Cancer Canada, Canadian Cancer Society and BRCAinBC.
