Purpose of Study
The purpose of this study is to follow people with prostate cancer for two years to understand how often depression develops and what factors may increase the risk. Participants will complete questionnaires about their mood and well-being. By tracking these changes over time, researchers hope to better understand the relationship between prostate cancer and depression, and use this information to improve early identification and support for patients.
Eligible participants will review the study with study staff and provide consent. Participants will complete health assessments and questionnaires about mood, health and lifestyle, then will be followed for two years with yearly follow-up visits to update health information and complete questionnaires. Study information may also be collected from medical records.
Eligibility
This study is open to men aged 45 or older who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer that is either:
- New (diagnosed within the past year); OR
- Treated with androgen deprivation therapy for the first time within the past six months; OR
- To be treated with androgen deprivation therapy for the first time within one month.
