Biography

Dr. Lindsay Mackay is an addiction medicine physician, researcher and clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia. She is the medical lead of the VCH Downtown Eastside Connections Clinic and provides care across multiple community and hospital-based settings, including the Portland Hotel Society’s Columbia Street Clinic and Vancouver Coastal Health’s withdrawal management services.

Dr. Mackay’s research focuses on innovative treatments for substance use disorders, including psychedelic-assisted therapy and novel contingency management approaches. She is the principal investigator of a VCHRI-funded study evaluating a low barrier, peer-led contingency management program for individuals with opioid and stimulant use disorders. Her work is grounded in low-barrier, evidence-based care and the development of innovative programs for individuals with substance use disorders facing psychosocial barriers.
