Biography

Dr. Michael Negraeff is an anesthesiologist and pain specialist working in the spine program at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), where he has been treating patients with acute and chronic pain from spinal injuries and conditions since 2003. He is the division head of pain medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia. He completed a pain medicine fellowship in Australia in 2001.

He has been involved in many pain management system redesign initiatives and was one of the co-founders of Pain BC, a non-profit organization whose mission is improve the lives of people in pain through education, empowerment and innovation. He is currently the chair of the board of directors of Pain BC.
