Dr. Wood works as a structural and interventional cardiologist at both St. Paul’s and Vancouver General Hospital. He is a professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a co-founding member of the Centre for Heart Valve Innovation in Vancouver. Dr. Wood also serves as the President of the Canadian Association of Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Wood's primary research interests include transcatheter management of structural and valvular heart disease, advanced cardiac imaging, new device development, and novel strategies for treating acute coronary syndromes. He was a member of the first group to develop transarterial and transapical Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). Dr. Wood has co-authored over 150 publications in peer reviewed journals.
