Biography

Dr. Torsten Nielsen was born in North Vancouver and inspired to be a cancer researcher by Terry Fox. He completed the MD/PhD training program at McGill and the Anatomical Pathology residency program at UBC, with additional training at Stanford and in England. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at UBC and started his lab at VCHRI in 2003, and was promoted to full professor in 2012. Dr. Nielsen is also an affilated member of the departments of Orthopaedics and of Urological Sciences
