Biography

Dr. Kristin Campbell is a professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia and a member of the Centre for Aging SMART. She is a physical therapist and research scientist who is leading the effort to understand the role of rehabilitation and exercise in cancer. Her group focuses on principles of exercise physiology, clinical trials methodology and epidemiology to examine the beneficial effects of physical therapy, rehabilitation and exercise in oncology and inform clinical practice. Dr. Campbell is the co-lead of the 2019 exercise guidelines for cancer survivors from the American College of Sports Medicine, and in 2020 received a Distinguished Achievement Award for Overall Excellence Mid-Career from the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. She is a member of the Oncology Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. She is also an associate editor for Physical Therapy, the journal of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine.
