Biography

Dr. Tara Sedlak is a researcher with the Centre for Cardiovascular Innovation and a clinical associate professor in the Division of Cardiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She practices general cardiology at Vancouver General Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital and is the director of the Leslie Diamond Women’s Heart Health Clinic. She is one of the only certified women’s heart health cardiologists in Canada.
 
Dr. Sedlak received her Doctor of Medicine degree, internal medicine residency and cardiology residency from UBC. She also completed a fellowship at Cedar Sinai Medical Centre on women’s heart health, particularly focusing on chest pain syndromes in women with no significant coronary artery disease. Her research interests include microvascular coronary dysfunction, coronary vasospasm, non-obstructive coronary artery disease and sex-specific risk factors for women.
