The Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) Team Grant competition supports practice-based research projects and builds health research capacity. Projects for this competition are directly relevant to current health care issues within Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC) and based on the collaboration between health care providers and experienced researchers.
The purpose of these grants is to support VCH/PHC staff and clinicians to conduct applied health research, community based and/or patient-oriented research projects to improve practice at VCH and PHC. VCH/PHC health care providers partner with experienced researchers who will mentor them through the entire research process, from proposal to project completion.
Eligibility
All team leaders must be a clinical health professional or physician in a permanent position (or on a medical contract) at VCH/PHC for at least one year and conduct the majority of their clinical and/or research work at VCH/PHC sites.

Registration and applications must be submitted through the Survey Monkey Apply portal. All applicants will be required to register for a Survey Monkey Apply account to complete this application.
Deadlines are below:
- Registration deadline: Monday, November 16, 2026 by 4:00pm (PT)
- Application deadline: Monday, February 27, 2027 by 4:00pm (PT)
Registration is mandatory for this competition and is a two-step process. All applicants must register for a Survey Monkey Apply account (or use a CWL to login), then complete the registration form. Completed applications must be received via the online submission link by the times specified or they will not be accepted.
