From building and maintaining the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) brand and online presence to promoting local research findings and organizing media relations, the VCHRI Communications team offers a variety of services to research community members and the media.
The VCHRI communications team supports research community members to promote and amplify their work; engage with the public, media and other health and academic partners; and raise awareness about the vital importance of health and medical research.
Promoting Research and Events
News stories and media releases: Researchers with new findings to publicize, studies to promote or recognitions to share can contact the VCHRI Communications team to assist with the development of news stories or media releases.
Promotional materials: The Communications team also offers a range of promotional materials to help spread awareness of research and opportunities for research participation at VCH, including customized brochures and posters that share how patients and the public can learn about and participate in research opportunities.
Newsletter: Researchers can contact the VCHRI Communications team about featuring their studies, findings or health research events in the Research Insider newsletter.
Connecting the Research Community
The latest health research announcements, publications, trainee profiles and stories are published biweekly in the VCHRI Researcher Insider newsletter. Funding opportunities, educational workshops and local events are also featured in the newsletter to help connect researchers, trainees and students with useful resources they need.
Collaborators are welcome to connect with the VCHRI Communications team to help amplify their events and professional development activities in the newsletter.

Researchers can connect with VCHRI on X and LinkedIn to stay updated on the latest news and announcements, share research studies and publications, and engage with members and industry partners within the B.C. research community.

Researchers are encouraged to acknowledge VCHRI by using the logo on websites, posters and other visual presentations. The logo is available in various formats, including:

The VCHRI Communications team is a five-time International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) award winner. These prestigious awards recognize VCHRI’s successful communication initiatives throughout the years, and include a health research awareness campaign, a first-of-its-kind online research study directory, the launch of a new website and the development of a milestone special event.
