The purpose of this study is to make heart care both personalized and easy to access, regardless of location. The MOSAIC study team brings together heart ultrasound (including point-of-care ultrasound), blood tests, genetics and clinical information, then uses secure, advanced computing to find patterns that typical care can miss. The goal is simple: earlier answers and better-fitting tests and treatments, available at the point of care, from big city hospitals to rural and remote clinics. 

The purpose of this study is to explore how well a virtual cardiac rehabilitation program works for people in rural and remote areas of British Columbia who cannot access traditional in-person care. By offering heart recovery support virtually, the program aims to improve participation, safety and satisfaction. Researchers will track how many people join, stick with and complete the program, and how they feel about it, to help expand access to life-saving heart care across the province.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of ziltivekimab in reducing the risk of major cardiovascular events when initiated as soon as possible in adult patients who have had a heart attack. Ziltivekimab is a medication designed to reduce inflammation after a heart attack, and thereby reduce secondary cardiac events.

The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of a full-scale, randomized trial to determine whether bloodwork-guided dosing of blood thinners reduces the risk of clotting in high-risk trauma patients. Patients will receive either standard of care dosing or dosing with adjustments based on bloodwork to achieve a minimum therapeutic threshold.

The purpose of this study to evaluate the effect of venglustat on left ventricular mass index in adult participants with Fabry disease and left ventricular hypertrophy. Participants in this study will be randomized to venglustat versus standard of care therapy (agalsidase alfa, agalsidase beta, or migalastat).

The purpose of the study is to determine whether a 26-week exercise training program or cognitive training program can improve sleep quality in stroke survivors who are experiencing poor sleep quality.

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of blood thinners in patients who develop short-term atrial fibrillation during surgery, and to determine whether blood thinners can lower the risk of stroke in this population. 

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and preliminary activity of axatilimab in combination with ruxolitinib and to assess the contribution of axatilimab to the combination treatment effect in participants with chronic graft-versus-host disease.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate evogliptin for aortic stenosis (AS). AS is caused by progressive thickening and calcification of the aortic valve leaflets which leads to a reduction in aortic valve opening. Valve replacement is currently the only known treatment for this condition once it becomes severe enough to cause symptoms. No treatment has been found to date that can delay the progression of this disease.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and effectiveness of non-invasive transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (TSCS) in conjunction with conventional rehabilitation in helping with the recovery of bladder function in persons with spinal cord injury (SCI). The study team will assess immediate TSCS efficacy when the stimulation is turned on, as well as the persisting effects of TSCS (e.g. any changes in function) that remain after the stimulation is turned off and after several weeks of regular stimulation.

The purpose of this study is to identify gaps in health services and make recommendations for the development of high-quality and equitable systems of stroke care informed by young women stroke survivors' experiences.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of study drug AZD3427 in addition to standard of care in participants with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease (World Health Organization Group 2).

The purpose of this study is to understand and document the experiences of patients who live at least 60 minutes outside of the Lower Mainland and who are traveling to Vancouver for a solid organ transplant. The research team aims to document the psychological, social, emotional and cultural impact for patients leaving their communities to access care in Vancouver. The study will also capture the associated out-of-pocket costs that these transplant patients incur before, during and after the transplant operation.

The purpose of this study is to collect biospecimens (fecal, urine, blood) and clinical data to serve as a resource for future research on Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. The careful collection, storage and retrieval of biospecimens and medical information for research projects are critical for improving understanding of healthy development and disease mechanisms and the subsequent development of effective treatments. Biospecimens from this biobank will be made available for ethically-approved studies.

The purpose of this study is to test the comparative effectiveness of two types of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) lead implantations (His vs LBBP) in relation to patient-centered outcomes (e.g. quality of life, physical activity, heart failure hospitalization, mortality) and comparative safety in relation to device-related complications and re-interventions (e.g. lead dislodgement, infection) relative to standard of care biventricular pacing.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of non-invasive transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (TCSCS) on cardiovascular, bladder, bowel and sexual function in people with spinal cord injury. The study team is interested in the immediate, long-term and longer-term effects (eight weeks after cessation of therapy) of non-invasive stimulation on these functions.

The purpose of this study is to explore the differences in socioeconomic and demographic factors between clinical trial participants and non-participants, and to explore whether clinical trial participation influences overall clinical outcomes. This is a retrospective chart review that will collect sociodemographic and economic factors of all multiple myeloma patients and identify differences between clinical trial participants and non-participants, as well as analyze whether clinical trial participation influenced clinical outcomes of these patients.

The purpose of this study is to test a potential new medicine, NNC6019-0001, for people who have heart disease due to transthyretin (TTR) amyloidosis. The study will compare the new medicine at two dose levels (10 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg) to placebo on change in a 6-minute walk test and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) test from baseline to week 52, or occurrence of death or cardiovascular hospitalization, in participants with hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis or wild-type transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy.

The purpose of this study is to test whether abatacept, as compared to placebo, is associated with a reduction in major adverse cardiac events (MACE) among participants hospitalized with myocarditis secondary to an immune checkpoint inhibitor. The primary outcome, MACE, is a composite of first occurrence of cardiovascular death, non-fatal sudden cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, significant ventricular arrythmias, significant bradyarrythmias or incident heart failure.

The purpose of this study is to compare the standard of care therapy (VRd + Rd therapy) and CAR-T therapy (VRd + CAR-T) for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients who do not plan to receive hematopoietic stem cell transplant as initial therapy.
